Boarding The Boarding fee is $27 per day, per dog regardless of size or any special needs your dog may have. This fee applies the day of drop off through and including the day of pick; The fee is not based upon a 24 hour time period. Cash and check are the only forms or payment that are accepted, and you are required to pay upon pick up of your dog. The Boarding fee includes: Housing Every dog has its own indoor/outdoor run. From 7 am - 9 pm, your dog can go in and out of its run as it chooses when it is not playing or running in the play areas on the kennel grounds. The kennel is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Each kennel has a raised cot sized to fit your dog. Blankets are also provided, but we prefer you bring the bed/blanket that your dog sleeps on at home so the kennel seems a little more familiar and comfortable for him. Lights remain on for dogs during the day and classical music is played day and night. Double runs are available for multiple dog households, but single dogs are always placed in their own run. Run location is based on each dog's individual needs. For example, an older or aggressive dog is placed in a kennel run where other dogs will not be passing it frequently. Playtime Every dog gets to play and run several times a day at no extra cost no matter what the weather conditions are. We have an inside play area for the cold and rainy days. There is always supervision when dogs are inside or outside, whether they are playing by themselves or with other dogs. The personality and size of a dog is always taken into consideration when it is paired up with other dogs to play. If your dog is aggressive towards other dogs, he or she will receive one-on-one playtime. Whatever the case, your dog will always be safe during playtime. |

Dietary needs: Please bring the food/vitamins/medicine that your dog will need during its stay at Cappa's Kennel. While we do provide bowls, leashes, and plenty of treats, you are more than welcome to bring along your dog's favorite treat. We cannot guarantee, however, that treats will be returned. It's preferred that you do bring your dog's own food to avoid stomach upset and again, to keep things as familiar as possible for your dog, however, we are more than happy to provide food for you dog if you cannot bring your own. Other requirements: We ask that you only have a flat collar on your dog. No prong or electric collars, please. We will switch leashes with you when you arrive. Drop-off
and pick-up times are arranged by appointment only. Our kennel is very
busy in the morning as it is being cleaned then and dogs are going in
and out for runs and playtime, and eating breakfast. A planned drop-off
and pick-up allows us to keep dogs inside while new dogs are being dropped
off. |

In-Kennel Training In-kennel training is $50.00/day and this price includes the $25 boarding fee. Age, breed, and temperament all affect how quickly a dog can learn new behaviors. We will discuss what behaviors you want your dog to learn and what behaviors you want him to unlearn. I will evaluate your dog and tell you what I think can be accomplished. Upon pick up, I will have a training session, at no additional cost, with you and your family to discuss and show you your dog's progress. I take as long as you need to understand what needs to be done before you go home with your newly trained dog. I also give you handouts to assist you with training at home. You are always welcome and encouraged to call or e-mail me with any questions you have. Boarding is the primary business at Cappa's Kennel. During the summer and holiday times our kennel is very busy. In-Kennel Training is not available during these busy times because we want to ensure that your dog gets our full attention. However, during these busy times we still have evaluations, private classes, and group classes.

Day School Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-6:00 PM. Why Day School is Good: A puppy's learning potential is at its greatest from 8 weeks old to 4 months of age. Inadequate or no socialization during this critical stage of life can create lasting behavior problems such as separation anxiety. At day school your dog will be crate trained, taught manners such as sitting to be pet, and learn basic obedience. Dogs of all ages love day school. Instead of spending the day home alone they get to socialize with other dogs, exercise, and work outdoors with trainers. A tired dog makes a happy dog and a happy owner.
